The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Justice John Tsoho, has announced the 2024 Annual Vacation and Roster for Vacation Judges of the trial courts in the country.

In a statement released on Tuesday in Abuja by the Assistant Director of Information and ICT, Catherine Christopher, Justice Tsoho stated that the 2024 annual vacation will begin on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, and conclude on Friday, September 13, 2024. Court sessions will resume on Monday, September 16, 2024.

Justice Tsoho noted that the vacation is in accordance with Order 46, Rule 4 (d) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules 2019. He emphasized the importance of this period for judges to enjoy a well-deserved rest and to prepare for the upcoming legal year.

During the vacation, the public can approach functional courts in the three premier divisions—Abuja, Lagos, and Port-Harcourt—for matters of extreme urgency. Justice Emeka Nwite and Justice Peter O. Lifu will be available in Abuja, Justice Akintayo Aluko and Justice Isaac Dipeol in Lagos, and Justice A. T. Mohammed and Justice P. M. Ayua in Port-Harcourt to handle urgent cases.
